A milestone celebration attended by leading figures from the U.S. and Italian innovation ecosystems, marking I³/NYC’s official debut. Hosted but the General Consul of Italy in New York Fabrizio di Michele and Deputy Consul General Marta Mammama, our Executive Chair Gianluca Galletto - who presented the initiative - and our co-founders were joined by Julie Samuels, President & CEO of Tech:NYC, Jonathan Schulhof, EVP for Innovation Industries at the NYC Economic Development Corporation and Denise Felipe Adams, Executive Director For Innovation at the NYC Mayor’s Office.

A flagship institutional initiative bringing a high-level delegation from Lazio (Rome’s Capital Region) to New York, including President Francesco Rocca, senior regional officials, and executives from leading Italian companies such as Aeroporti di Roma, Almaviva, Alfa Sigma, Angelini Industries, Farmindustria, and many more, including and 20 excellent startup founders  selected by Lazio Innova, the innovation agency of Lazio’s Regional Government.

- The program convened 200+ participants across corporates, startups, investors, and public institutions, and featured three thematic industry roundtables, a startup pitch sessions and three networking convenings with VCs, entrepreneurs,and industry leaders, (including Mike Pell, Director of Microsoft Garage in NYC and the inventor PDF and Acrobat), and a special session at Cornell-Tech.

- Meetings and dialogues were held with leadership from Empire State Development (NY State Secretary of Economic Development), the Brooklyn Navy Yard (CEO and Chair), New Lab (CO-Founder & CEO), Civic Hall, and NYC Economic Development Corporation, strengthening transatlantic ties across innovation, industry, and public policy. This event reinforced our credibility with public institutions and major players in the New York innovation ecosystem.

I³/NYC Chair Gianluca Galletto gave a keynote speech on the transformation of NYC into the second largest innovation ecosystem in the world, which provided an excellent opportunity to present I³/NYC’s to an audience of smart cities and govtech entrepreneurs, government leaders, and CTOs.

In partnership with 15 European innovation organizations (French Tech, Digital Irish, Nordic Chambers, and more).Over 400 attendees, including 70% VCs and C-level executives, 32 presenting startups, and participation of Consuls General from all participating countries.An unforgettable night of cross-border collaboration — and a legendary afterparty in a historic house from the American Revolution times in SoHo.

Our first meetup, designed to equip Italian founders with practical insights on how to navigate and succeed in the US venture and innovation landscape. Under the leadership of Co-founder & Board Director Simone Tarantino, the event combined expert guidance, peer networking, and shared experiences — continuing to strengthen the I³/NYC community and its mission to empower Italian innovation in New York. — the seed of our growing community spirit.

We were joined by the founders of four Italian startups who shared their successful journey in the US in panel expertly led by Simone:
- Cloud4Wi, a company that delivers automatic and secure WiFi access, and unleash innovative location-aware experiences, serving large retailers, public space operators, transportation companies and more. 
- Diode Computers, which applies AI to design and manufacture circuit boards for advanced industrial applications.
- Alamanax, a digital solutions firm that uses AI agents to reason like engineers, and  automates the detection, triaging, and patching of code vulnerabilities.
- Scalestack AI, an artificial intelligence startup building scalable AI-driven tools and platforms to help organizations automate workflows and extract insights from data.

Chair Gianluca Galletto led an inspiring conversation with Federico Marchetti, founder of YOOX - Net-a-Porter, the first Italian unicorn, and author of the book The Geek of Chic with a foreword by Giorgio Armani. Federico Marchetti is a recognized global leader at the crossroads of fashion, technology, and sustainability. In collaboration with NIAF, National Italian American Foundation and Salotto NYC.

Joint event with Danish, Dutch, and other European partners, exploring how to successfully scale across the Atlantic, with participation from our Consulate.

An event convened leaders from the UNDP, Mars, Kyndryl, VCs, and climate startups to explore how we can turn climate commitments into measurable, scalable impact.

Held in Turin every September, Italian Tech Week is the most important tech gathering in Italy. The oversubscribed masterclass was titled “NYC, Global Innovation Hub: Access Opportunities to the US Markets and Global Growth.”

At Italian Tech Week in Turin, I³/NYC Co-Sponsored a networking event in partnership with: Culture First Community • Nomad Pass • Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (FGB) • LAB.BRAINdesign.

We were invited to present our association to current and future founders at Bocconi 4 Innovation - the university’s accelerator empowering entrepreneurs in Italy to grow their startup ideas. By the way, Bocconi University is the Alma mater of three of our co-founders and board members: Gianluca Galletto, Alessandro Piol and Dario Calogero.

SMAU Milano is Italy’s leading innovation expo, bringing together startups, corporates, investors, and public institutions to exchange ideas and discover new technologies. Gianluca and Co-Founder/Board Member Simone Tarantino were invited by SMAU's CEO and Chair to represent I³/NYC. Gianluca and Someone had the chance to meet several industry leaders, and represent I³/NYC, including in a featured international panel where Gianluca took part: “Building New Ecosystems: Driving Innovation through Partnerships”.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Italian Consulate, brought together leaders from government, industry, and investment to explore opportunities and challenges in the space economy. One of the two panels was moderated by our Board Member Simone Tarantino and featured distinguished speakers, including Colonel Walter Villadei, astronaut and Italian Air Force representative on the International Space Agency and the United States.

In collaboration with Italian Tech Club, the National Italian American Foundation Young Professionals Network (NIAF-YPN). Interviewed by Italian Tech Club co-founder Giuseppe di Cera, Gianluca discussed the evolving US and Italian ecosystems and addressed some of the pain points affecting the Italian - and general European - innovation economy. The conversation was very thought provoking and sparked many interesting questions from the audience.
